Discipleship electives

Sunday Mornings from 11:15 AM until Noon, we offer our discipleship electives. These are generally six to eight week classes that cover a variety of essential topics. We vary our curriculum to teach the essentials of the Christian faith, practical Christian living, and books from the Bible.

Children's classes are offered during this time with age appropriate teaching covering the whole of the Scriptures.

Current electives

Winter 2018

  • "Understanding the Story of the Bible"

    Teacher: Chad Middlebrooks

    Location: Parlor

“How exactly do the Old and New Testaments fit together? What is the overall story of the Bible? In order to gain a greater understanding of the scriptures as well as a greater love for studying the Bible we need to answer these and other questions regarding how the sixty-six books of the Bible fit together. In this class, we will explore the big picture of the Bible as we trace the story-line from Genesis to Revelation. Hopefully, through this class you will not only learn the tools to read the Bible with increased confidence and understanding, but will also gain a greater love for the Lord Jesus Christ who is the main subject of the Bible.”

  • "Jonah-You Can't Outrun Grace"

    Teacher: Becky Saulters

    Location: Library

The purpose of Jonah is not to recount an unbelievable historical tale or expand your theological knowledge. The purpose of Jonah is heart and life transformation-this narrative should change the way Christians think, speak, and act. Are you running from God? While we won't board a boat to flee halfway across the world like the Old Testament prophet did, you and I run from the call of God every day. Most times, we don't even realize we're running. The Good News of the gospel is that we can never outrun grace. Come see how God chases us down, forgives us, and gives us second chances to participate in the work of his kingdom.
